Throne of Anubis Clash Map

The upcoming Season 12 of Overwatch 2 is set to include a new Clash map known as Throne of Anubis. This map will immerse players in environments reminiscent of ancient Egyptian ruins, offering unique spaces to explore and fight through. The addition of this map to the core game mode, Clash, marks an exciting development for fans, who can look forward to its release on August 20.

Blizzard has shared a trailer showcasing various new features in Season 12 of Overwatch 2, including the launch of the Clash game mode. In Clash, teams compete to capture points on a mirrored map. Originally, Clash only had the Hanaoka map, but the Throne of Anubis now joins as a second option, offering players fresh terrain to conquer and strategies to master.

New Overwatch 2 Clash Map – Throne of Anubis

The Throne of Anubis represents a modernized iteration of the original Temple of Anubis map, similar to how Hanaoka reimagines Hanamura. Both original maps were part of the Assault game mode, which was a staple in the initial release of Overwatch. In the lore, the Temple of Anubis holds significance as the site where the Omnic Crisis commenced. Clash, the evolution of Assault, breathes new life into these iconic maps for Overwatch 2.

Earlier glimpses of the Throne of Anubis were offered during Season 10 as part of the reveal for Venture, the latest hero at that time. Finally, after two seasons, the map is set for its official debut in Season 12. The Throne of Anubis promises to deliver a visually captivating experience rich in lore. Fans have eagerly anticipated its release, and it will be accessible on August 20 with the launch of the new season.

Clash mode itself has garnered positive feedback, evidenced by its test run in April where many players enjoyed the new dynamics it introduced. Multiple maps for this game mode, including the Throne of Anubis, ensure a varied and engaging gameplay experience. The map's diverse terrain and detailed environment are designed to challenge players and provide a fresh perspective on familiar ground.

Overwatch 2 continues to evolve as an always-online, free-to-play, team-based action game. Set in an optimistic future, it offers 5v5 battles with heroes like Sojourn and Junker Queen, who bring unique abilities to the battlefield.
