Latest Patch Nerfs Widowmaker and Hazard

In the latest update for Overwatch 2, significant adjustments have been made to three of the game's heroes. These changes aim to fine-tune the balance and enhance the gameplay experience for players.

The alterations unveiled by Blizzard affect Hazard, Sojourn, and Widowmaker. Such updates are part of the continual efforts to maintain a fair and engaging competitive environment within the game.

Adjustments to Widowmaker and Hazard

In the recent Overwatch 2 updates, adjustments were made to a few heroes to balance gameplay. Widowmaker, known for her precision, experienced changes affecting her scoped shots. These tweaks aim to recalibrate her impact in matches. On the tank side, Hazard's Spike Guard ability underwent modifications. Such changes reflect Blizzard's ongoing commitment to refining the competitive experience and ensuring fair play among all heroes.

Today's Overwatch 2 Update

Hazard (Tank)

Spike Guard adjustments feature a reduction in damage protection from 75% to 65% and a shortened duration, now lasting 3 seconds instead of 3.5. These changes aim to balance Hazard's defensive capabilities.

Sojourn (Damage)

Railgun modifications include a decreased interval before energy starts to degrade, now 9 seconds, down from 12 seconds. This modification is designed to fine-tune Sojourn's sustained damage output.

Widowmaker (Damage)

For Widow's Kiss, scoped shots are now excluded from global projectile size enhancements. This adjustment seeks to balance Widowmaker's precision and effectiveness in long-range engagements.

These changes are specific to standard game modes and do not impact the 6v6 playtest. The adjustments are identified as part of a hero balance hotfix, ensuring that replay codes from previous updates remain compatible.
