Marvel Rivals introduces a new challenge in its Path to Doomsday mode, where you face an asymmetrical showdown inspired by The Avengers. You either unite as part of the hero squad or step into a match shaped by Loki’s overwhelming presence.
The April 30, 2026 update delivers this crossover event along with fresh content and gameplay adjustments. You can explore the latest changes through the current patch, which expands the experience with themed features tied to the Avengers storyline.
Marvel Rivals Path to Doomsday: The Avengers explained
You enter Chapter 1 of the event through a limited-time asymmetrical PvP mode built around an Avengers crossover. One player controls Loki, while a six-player squad takes on the roles of iconic heroes in a 1v6 showdown.
Playable heroes on the team side:
- Hawkeye
- Hulk
- Captain America
- Thor
- Black Widow
- Iron Man
Loki uses illusions and powers tied to the Infinity Stones to disrupt and outmaneuver you. As the Avengers, you can even trigger moments inspired by the 2012 film, including calling in Hulk for a coordinated attack.
Marvel Rivals update today
You can take part in special The Avengers screenings now running in Times Square. Watch at least two minutes during any daily showing—12 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., or 8 p.m. PDT—to unlock a themed Avengers gallery card for your collection.
After the screening, head to the in-game Avengers Gift Shop in Times Square. Capture a group photo with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to earn 100 Units, which you can use toward in-game purchases.
Today’s update also supports the newly launched Path to Doomsday: The Avengers mode. This asymmetric 1v6 PvP experience lets one player control Loki while six others choose from the original Avengers lineup, including:
- Iron Man
- Captain America
- Thor
- Hulk
- Black Widow
- Hawkeye
Outside of the Avengers-themed content, Chrono-Rush has returned for a limited run. You can complete challenges during this event window and progress toward timed rewards.
If you prefer competitive objectives, jump into Blood Hunt. Playing through this mode during the event period lets you unlock an exclusive emote tied to current seasonal rewards.
A new cosmetic reward, the Kingpin Dethroned Trophy Shard, is also available. You can claim it to commemorate your victory over Wilson Fisk and add a distinct visual item to your profile.
Marvel Rivals patch notes: April 30
This update resolves two hero-specific issues that affected gameplay performance and scoring accuracy.
- Black Cat: You no longer trigger Claw Whip and Phantom Pursuit at the same time when using Turn of Fortune during a grapple. The interaction now activates abilities correctly and separately.
- Moon Knight (Blood Hunt): You receive the proper cooldown reduction and rating score from Full Moon Spin Enhancement Gear, as the miscalculation bug has been corrected.
