Major Warzone 2 leak reveals four Modern Warfare 2 maps

Details for Warzone 2 are becoming more and more common, and highly regarded gaming journalist Tom Henderson has now revealed that four classic Modern Warfare 2 maps will appear in Warzone 2.

Interesting Warzone 2 news came out recently when a number of leakers suggested that major changes to loadout drops and armour will be added. Furthermore, the map itself will be changed significantly, and will look more like the Blackout map from Black Ops 4.

These changes are pretty decisive in themselves, but it doesn't stop there. Reliable and highly regarded leaker Tom Henderson has now said that the influence of Modern Warfare 2 will be seen throughout Warzone 2. „The old maps are not only returning to the main game, but also to the Warzone 2 map itself,“ he said.

Modern Warfare maps seen on Warzone map

Tom Henderson is known in the industry for having a large amount of sources for video games and the information he shares is generally very reliable. In his most recent CoD article, he claims that the MW2 maps coming to Warzone 2 have been „added and expanded.“

He says the maps will appear as Points Of Interest (POI) in the Warzone 2 map. So far, four confirmed maps have been revealed with information about each one.

Highrise: can be found under a POI called „Modern City“ that looks a bit like Downtown in Verdansk.

Quarry: the classic map will have a POI with the same name.

Terminal: Warzone 2 also gets a Verdansk feature as Terminal can be seen as an „Airport“ POI.

Afghan: The map Afghan can be found in „Caves“ in the middle of the map.

Henderson also added that these are probably not the only Modern Warfare 2 throwbacks: „There are also several other POI locations that may contain more Modern Warfare 2 maps, including „Mountain Town“, which is located next to the observatory in the middle of the map. This POI could possibly contain the MW2 map Favela.“

So far, these are still leaks, so take all of this with a grain of salt, but it's still interesting news, of course.
