Remove Honor Capsules and Orbs
League of Legends is undergoing another transformation, affecting the way rewards are distributed to its players. Riot Games, the developer behind this popular game, is removing honor capsules and orbs. These changes aim to refine the reward system by eliminating certain incentives traditionally given to players for positive behavior in the game.
The removal of these honor rewards is a significant shift in Riot Games‘ approach to acknowledging in-game conduct. Instead of the previous system, which included honor capsules and orbs, players can expect a revamped method of earning rewards that aligns with evolving game mechanics and player interaction.
Honor Capsules and Orbs
Honor capsules and orbs have shifted in their offerings over different seasons. Honor orbs were known for containing key fragments, which were used to access items like Hextech chests that are no longer part of the game. These orbs also frequently included champion shards of lower monetary value, and at times, items such as ward skins or blue essence. When players reached honor level three or higher, they unlocked honor capsules with more beneficial contents. These capsules offered champion shards that were often of higher value, featuring champions that required 4800 blue essence or more. Additionally, players could earn exclusive honor skins like Gray Warwick and Medieval Twitch, plus honor five tokens and occasional random ward skins.
New Rewards
The latest updates bring significant changes to the reward system in League of Legends. Instead of receiving capsules or orbs, players will now accumulate Battle Pass XP. Any existing Honor capsules or orbs in players‘ inventories are expected to be automatically opened, with their contents added directly to the player accounts.
The revamped Battle Pass is designed to be more welcoming for newcomers by offering champions associated with the rewarded skins, allowing for greater variety. Missions within the game have been adjusted to enable faster progress and easier completion of tasks, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Currently, players can participate in the 2025 first season Noxian-themed Battle Pass, which provides numerous quests to complete for rewards. This change aims to streamline the reward distribution process and offer a more diverse range of champion and skin options.
