LA Guerillas win second Call of Duty League major

LA Guerillas won the second major of this year's Call of Duty League in phenomenal fashion. The players Slasher, Asim, Spart and Huke were too strong for Atlanta FaZe in the final 5-2. However, it was mainly the road to the final that makes this victory special.

Call of Duty League RØKKR Major 2, as the event is officially called, began Thursday, March 31. LA Guerillas began Thursday with a resounding defeat. Boston Breach was too strong by a score of 3-0. This ensured that the team from Los Angeles had to continue in the elimination round. In the elimination round, one defeat kicks you out of the tournament, where you get another chance in the winner's round.

From the elimination round it is still a long way to the final. LA Guerillas won 3-1 over Toronto Ultra, overpowered London Royal Ravens 3-0 and then won 3-2 over Seattle Surge. As of this writing, on Sunday, April 3, three more Vanguard games had to be played in this second major.

In the first of these final three games, the Los Angeles team took on Florida Mutineers. This match was won 3-2. In the last game before the finals, Boston Breach was again the opponent. This time LA Guerillas prevailed 3-2. This meant that after six games, the team still reached the finals.

Then the finals, in which LA Guerillas took on Atlanta FaZe. Atlanta FaZe also reached the final in the previous major. They lost against OpTic Texas, so the team from Atlanta was eager for revenge.

This revenge did not come, because in the final LA Guerillas was also very strong. Search & Destroy in particular went very well for the team. They even set a new record: winning ten Search & Destroy maps in a row. Atlanta FaZe was unable to break the flow and the final ended in a 5-2 victory for LA Guerillas.

After the second major of the Call of Duty League, Atlanta FaZe is in the lead with 180 points. They are followed by OpTic Texas which has 165 points. London Royal Ravens closes the top three with 130 points. LA Guerillas moves up to spot five due to their victory. They have 115 points.
