Improve Your Inventory Space
In the game The First Descendant, players often face the challenge of limited inventory space. This constraint can be particularly frustrating as it prevents the collection of high-tier loot, which is essential for progressing in the game.

Equipment Slots: Checking Your Capacity
In The First Descendant, managing your Inventory Space is crucial for efficient gameplay. Various types of inventory slots include Equipment Slots, Storage Slots, Consumable Slots, and Module Slots. Among these, Equipment Slots are essential as they can directly influence your gameplay experience by determining your capability to pick up new items.
To monitor your Equipment Slots, navigate to the Accessory Menu. Start by opening your inventory, then select either your Reactor or External Components. In the bottom right-hand corner of this menu, you'll see two numbers in brackets. These numbers indicate your current inventory space utilized and the total inventory space available:
- Weapons
- Reactors
- External Components
Keeping your Equipment Slots in check ensures you don't miss out on crucial high-tier loot. Always ensure you have enough available slots to avoid the risk of discarding valuable items under pressure. Your ability to manage these slots effectively can make a significant difference in your overall success in the game.
How to Increase Inventory Space in The First Descendant
Improve Your Proficiency Level to Get Additional Equipment Slots
Increasing your Mastery Rank can help you acquire additional inventory slots. Each rank gives you extra equipment slots, boosting your capacity to store items. As your rank higher, you'll gain anywhere from 1 to 4 new slots, depending on the level.
Disassemble Unwanted Items (in This Order)
Removing unwanted items by dismantling them is a useful way to free up inventory space. In The First Descendant, External Components should be the first to go, followed by Reactors, and finally Weapons. Ideally, keep only about 6-8 External Components and discard older ones when you find better alternatives.
To dismantle items:
- Hover over the item you no longer need and select „Select Junk.“
- Click „Remove all as junk“ (the hotkey is displayed at the bottom of the screen).
Utilize Storage Slots in Albion HQ
Your Storage Box in Albion HQ can hold items you wish to keep but are not currently using. This box, located just outside the City Entrance portal, has a capacity separate from your Equipment Slots. Weapons, Reactors, and External Components can all be stored here, providing you essentially with a second inventory.
Buy Equipment Slots with Caliber
You can also purchase additional slots using Caliber if you're prepared to spend real money. Each extra slot costs 25 Caliber, equating to around $0.70. Effective inventory management, however, can help you avoid the need for these purchases entirely.
