Guild Esports, a new home for Beckham's organization

A major investment for Guild Esports, the organization of the former England soccer star.

Shoreditch seems to be becoming a magnet for top UK-based esports organizations. Fnatic moved to London's East End in 2017, and Excel Esports in 2021. Now, however, it's Guild Esports‘ turn to open an office in the London borough of Hackney. The David Beckham-backed organization, in fact, has announced that it has also signed a ten-year lease for the creation of its global esports Academy.

The Premier League the model

Modeled in part on the soccer academies established by major Premier League clubs, the Guild Academy will include esports training rooms, equipment and game space. There will also be a physical therapy room and a specialized psyche room to support the mental and physical well-being of Guild's professional and future players. „I'm really excited – the words of David Beckham – about Guild's new global headquarters, which sees the creation of a new home for the Guild Academy. This marks the next important step in building Guild's position as one of the best esports organizations in the world and will be a focal point for our players, creators and fans.“

Next Steps

The 3,000-square-foot facility will be located in the London Technology Hub and will open its doors in the second quarter of 2022 between April and June. The premises will also serve as Guild's headquarters and become in effect a central hub for its global operations. The British organization, meanwhile, has opened down a dialogue with potential sponsors. The goal is to sell the naming rights to the venue to an interested company. The news comes just days after Guild Esports announced its largest sponsorship deal worth £4.5 million with Bitstamp.
