If you played Fortnite during Chapter 5 Season 4, you likely remember the Marvel-focused “Absolute Doom” Battle Pass and its dramatic changes to the island. Epic Games has now confirmed that skins from that season will return, this time through the in-game Item Shop.
The Absolute Doom season introduced eight new Marvel outfits, alternate styles, themed locations like Castle Doom and The Raft, and special items such as War Machine-inspired weapons. Now, you will get another opportunity to pick up some of those cosmetics if you missed them the first time around.
Fortnite Is Bringing ‚Absolute Doom‘ Skins Back to the Item Shop
Epic Games has confirmed that the Chapter 5 Season 4 Absolute Doom Battle Pass outfits will leave the vault and enter the Item Shop. The announcement came through the official Fortnite social channels, but Epic has not shared exact release dates or identified which outfits will appear first.
You can expect selections from the original Absolute Doom lineup, which included:
- Gwenpool
- War Machine
- Peelverine
- Emma Frost
- Captain Jones
- Mysterio
- Shuri
- Doctor Doom
For years, you could only unlock Battle Pass cosmetics by purchasing the pass and completing its tiers during the active season. That policy shifted in August 2024, when Epic stated it would begin selling former Battle Pass cosmetics in the Item Shop at least 18 months after their debut.
It has now been roughly 19 months since the Absolute Doom season ended, placing these cosmetics within that eligibility window. This move follows the earlier return of Captain Phasma, who first appeared in a limited LEGO-themed pass and later debuted in the Item Shop during a May 4 celebration.
If pricing follows that example, individual outfits may cost around 1,500 V-Bucks. Bundles that include matching items such as pickaxes, emotes, or gliders could reach about 2,000 V-Bucks.
| Item Type | Estimated Cost (V-Bucks) |
|---|---|
| Single Outfit | ~1,500 |
| Full Bundle | ~2,000 |
Epic has not confirmed whether every skin from the season will return or if releases will happen in waves. Based on recent Item Shop patterns, you may see staggered drops rather than a single large release.
The timing also aligns with a broader expansion of crossover content. During the recent State of Unreal presentation, Epic previewed collaborations that include Dave the Diver, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, Vampire Survivors, Phantom Blade Zero, Rick and Morty, and Control Resonant. An Olivia Rodrigo skin is also planned for summer 2026.
You are seeing a clear shift in how Fortnite handles older cosmetics. Instead of permanent exclusivity, Epic now cycles select content back into circulation after a defined waiting period.
