Former captain Golden leaves Fnatic

Just like Jackinho a few weeks ago, the former team leader Golden has been released by Fnatic.

A few months after being benched by the structure, Golden is announced on the departure by Fnatic. The former team leader had been the first to bear the brunt of poor performance in the competition this year.

In July, the roster had seen a big change: the Swedish Maikil „Golden“ Selim was on the bench, followed very quickly by JW. The British ALEX was called in as a reinforcement, he took Golden's place, coming from Cloud9. A change of staff that seems to have slowly borne fruit. After a few months, Fnatic, absent from the PGL Major, has timidly returned to success: a first place at the IEM XVI Winter Qualifier, a victory at the DreamHack Open November, but last week a too quick elimination at the same IEM XVI Winter, admittedly in the group of the ogre Gambit.

Today, we bid our final farewells to @goldenmajk.

Golden climbed through our academy team into the main starting lineup, quickly proving his capable skillset as both a rifler & IGL, as well as a beloved & prized player.

Fnatic had anyway announced a change of direction for its team, worried about its declining results, and its fall in the HLTV ranking. This Tuesday, Golden officially leaves the structure that had welcomed him in 2019 on loan and then under contract, at the time he was making a return after a few seasons at Cloud9. Recently, Fnatic has also separated from Jackinho, who had been bench in October. No doubt that the big changes announced during the season will continue this winter.
