Everything you need to know about the Halo Infinite multiplayer

Halo Infinite is officially out and after 20 years, a true revolution for Halo has begun. With a flashy open-world campaign and free-to-play multiplayer, Halo has returned grander than ever. Everything you need to know about the Halo Infinite multiplayer we list for you.

Halo Infinite is the big return of 343 Industries, the studio that took over the Halo series from Bungie. After some criticism of the fifth installment, the sixth installment in the series should be the magnus opus that brings the Halo fanbase together. At the same time, it should usher in a new era for the shooter series for first-time fans and new players alike.

The Halo Infinite multiplayer is for old and new

Halo Infinite is therefore a brand new starting point for the first-person shooter series. With a free-to-play approach, Halo Infinite's multiplayer is more accessible than ever before. Anyone interested in the shooter can play the game for free and for nothing. At least, the multiplayer is free.

As such, the multiplayer includes an array of content that you can get started with right away. There are ten maps to battle on. The ways in which you then engage in battle can be divided into two modes: Big Team Battle and Arena. In the latter, you have seven modes in which you play with smaller groups of 4 against 4, while there are four Big Team Battle modes.

ARENA BIG TEAM BATTLE
Attrition Capture the Flag
Capture the Flag Slayer
Elimination Stockpile
Fiesta Total Control
Oddball
Slayer
Strongholds

Halo Infinite on Xbox Series X/S, PC and Xbox One

The multiplayer can be played on a range of Xbox platforms for free. The game runs on the new Xbox Series X and Series S, but also on the Xbox One. So if you have not yet switched to the next-gen hardware, you can still enjoy Halo Infinite.

In addition, Halo Infinite can be enjoyed on PC as well. Best of all, regardless of your platform, you can play together with friends. Halo Infinite multiplayer has cross-platform support. On any platform where you can play Halo Infinite, you can play together with your friends and also just take your progress with you in case you switch between PC and Xbox Series X for example.

When can you get started with Halo Infinite?

The multiplayer of Halo Infinite is playable immediately. You can install the game directly on your platform of choice and get started with your favorite modes. But that's not all.

Throughout the months following release, Halo Infinite's multiplayer will feature numerous events. For example, the first season of Halo Infinite's multiplayer is now underway, called Heroes of Reach. Several more events will take place during this season, which will last until May 2022. Also, 343 Industries will regularly add new modes to the Halo Infinite multiplayer. Before the end of the year, for example, three more new multiplayer modes will be added.

Halo Infinite has a Battle Pass

The fact that Halo Infinite works with seasons also means that there is a Battle Pass in Halo Infinite. This is available separately and gives you access to an extensive ladder of one hundred steps that you can climb as you play. With this, you then unlock numerous cosmetic upgrades that are entirely dedicated to Halo Reach.

Unlike other games, you'll keep the Halo Infinite Battle Pass from season 1 until after the season is done. You can build on the bridge months or even years after the season is done to unlock everything in the battle pass. That way you have long-term enjoyment from the battle pass of each season, although each Battle Pass does cost about €/$ 10.
