Cloud9 Entity Secures Crucial Victory

After a four-year hiatus, Cloud9 has re-entered the Dota 2 arena by acquiring Entity’s roster. This move marks a significant return for the organization, which had previously stepped away from the competitive scene even though they had a promising lineup. Players like Ace, Sneyking, PieLieDie, and MISERY went on to achieve notable success in various teams, highlighting the strength of Cloud9's past choices.

This new iteration of Cloud9's Dota 2 team is not about revisiting past glories or reviving old legends like EE-Sama, who has since retired. Instead, Cloud9 is looking forward, focusing on supporting a fresh roster with established talent, signaling their intent to make a bold impact in the competitive circuit once again.

Cloud9 Dota 2 Roster

Cloud9 has unveiled their return to the Dota 2 scene with the signing of Entity's roster. The lineup includes the following players:

  • Alimzhan „watson“ Islambekov
  • Volodymyr „No[o]ne-“ Minenko
  • Dmitry „DM“ Dorokhin
  • Vladislav „Kataomi`“ Semenov
  • Dzmitry „Fishman“ Palishchuk

Filipe „Astini“ Astini will continue his role as head coach. The team showed significant potential at the Riyadh Masters 2024, excelling in the group stage by securing second place amidst top teams such as Team Liquid and Xtreme Gaming. Their playoff journey, however, encountered challenges.

Entity has remained supportive, even re-tweeting Cloud9's announcement. The transition appears seamless as no player changes occurred during the acquisition. The players‘ next major test will be at The International 2024, a pivotal event in the Dota 2 calendar.

Beyond The International, there are several tournaments on the horizon. If the team remains intact, they aim to qualify for or receive direct invitations to:

  • Dota Pro Circuit (DPC)
  • ESL One events
  • DreamLeague

These events will further showcase the prowess of Cloud9's new lineup and could establish them as a formidable force once again in the competitive Dota 2 arena.
