Behaviour Interactive has revealed the latest updates for Dead by Daylight, aiming to enhance gameplay balance and introduce new strategies. The upcoming 8.2.0 patch, set for release in the Public Test Build next week, features minor changes to both survivor perks and killer abilities, ensuring a more dynamic and engaging experience for players.

Updates for Killers
The Dredge
- Movement speed while using Reign of Darkness has increased to 3.8m/s from its previous 3.68m/s.
- Teleport speed outside of Nightfall improved to 19m/s up from 12m/s.
- The teleport cooldown, when not in Nightfall, is reduced to 10 seconds from 12 seconds.
- Breaking out of a locked locker now takes 2.25 seconds instead of 3 seconds.
- Nightfall meter charges at a rate of 1 charge per second per injured Survivor, up from 0.75.
- The volume of The Dredge’s sound effects has been decreased to make it less detectable.
- Adjustments to various Add-Ons.
The Doctor
- Static Blast cooldown is reduced to 30 seconds if no Survivors are in range.
- If a Survivor is in range, Static Blast cooldown is now 45 seconds.
- Movement speed while charging Static Blast increased to 2.99m/s, up from 1.16m/s.
- Adjustments made to Add-Ons related to Static Blast cooldown.
The Nemesis
- Mutation Rate 2 now requires 5 Contamination Points, down from 6.
- Hindered penalty duration upon infecting a Survivor increased to 2 seconds from 0.25 seconds.
- Adjustments to Licker Tongue and Marvin’s Blood Add-Ons.
Perks Adjustments
Blast Mine
- The activation requirement has been lowered to 40% generator repairs from 50%.
Wiretap
- The activation requirement is now 40% generator repairs instead of the former 50%.
Chemical Trap
- Activation requirement is reduced to 20% generator repairs from 50%.
- Trap duration adjusted to 40/50/60 seconds from 100/110/120 seconds.
Mirrored Illusion
- Activation requirement reduced to 20% generator repairs from 50%.
- Duration reduced to 40/50/60 seconds from 100/110/120 seconds.
Dance With Me
- Cooldown reduced to 30/25/20 seconds from the previous 60/50/40 seconds.
Deception
- Cooldown time reduced to 30/25/20 seconds, previously set at 60/50/40 seconds.
Diversion
- Activation requirement is now 30/25/20 seconds down from 40/35/30 seconds.
Flashbang
- Activation requirement lowered to 50/45/40% generator repairs from 70/60/50%.
Game Content Changes
Prestige Levels
- Prestige levels are no longer visible in the pre-game lobby.
Hook Phases
- Duration of hook phases has been increased to 70 seconds from 60 seconds.
Scratch Marks
- Enhanced visibility for Scratch Marks.
Midwich Elementary School Map Adjustments
- Breakable walls in the bathrooms have been removed.
- Hallway layouts have been modified to reduce long-range visibility.
- New objects added near exit gates to limit visibility further.
