CS:GO: All Major EU qualifiers so far
The qualification phase for the big PGL Major in Antwerp is in the middle of its hot phase. So far, eight participants from the European region have been determined. A German team is also taking part.
Today the so-called RMR A (Regional Major Ranking) tournament comes to an end – the first of two qualifiers for the PGL Major in Antwerp, Belgium, which will take place in May. A total of 16 teams competed, eight were able to solve the ticket for the big stage.
But with the qualification mode seeming quite complicated to outsiders, not all tickets are the same. The first four of the elimination tournament will enter the big major one round later than the teams who qualified via places 5-8.
This so-called Legends status has been achieved by top teams Heroic, FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere, as well as the German team from Berlin International Gaming. BIG beat back-to-back SAW, the Outsiders, and HLTV's #1 ranked FaZe Clan.
Accordingly, these four teams will not enter the major until May 14, starting at the Legends Stage. The road to the playoffs and the title is therefore shorter.
The teams that qualified in places 5-8 will start on May 9 in the Challenger Stage. In RMR A, the Russian team forZe, Team Vitality, Eternal Fire and the Outsiders (formerly Virtus.pro) succeeded in doing so.
Eliminated are SAW, OG, Fnatic, Dignitas, Team Unique, Team QUAZAR, GamerLegion and unfortunately MOUZ around the German Rifler Jon „JDC“ de Castro, after they lost today in the decider match against Vitality.
