How to Report Bot Boosting Lobbies
Players attempting to escalate their CS2 rankings have been known to employ a couple of underhanded tactics. Experienced players create additional accounts known as „smurfs“ to play with less skilled opponents, thereby inflating the rank of these secondary accounts effortlessly.
Additionally, automated programs—bots—are used to simulate activity and advance accounts in rank during periods when the account owner is not actively playing. The motive behind both methods is to upgrade the account to a point where it can be sold for profit due to its falsely inflated status.
Valve, the creator of CS2, presents a specific procedure for players to report these unethical practices. They encourage players who discover such cheating to compile evidence and contact them directly. The evidence should include:
- A screenshot of the match's scoreboard
- Links to the accounts in question
These proof pieces should be sent to Valve through an email labeled „boosting report“ directed to „[email protected]„. This direct approach circumvents the normal user-reporting system and allows Valve to conduct an immediate investigation.
