Valve has brought Cache back to CS2 after years of community demand. You can now load into a fully reworked version that keeps the core layout you remember while introducing major visual updates and broader design adjustments.
You will also notice smoother performance compared to earlier versions, with testing showing a significant boost to average FPS and improved frame stability. Cache is not part of the Premier map pool yet, so you need to access it through other available game modes if you want to start playing it right away.
Playing Cache in CS2 in 2026
You cannot queue for Cache in Premier yet, but you can access it in several other modes right now. Valve added the map to standard matchmaking playlists in April 2026, so you can start learning it immediately.
Use the options below to load into Cache:
- Select Cache directly from the Competitive map list.
- Queue for Active Duty Delta in Casual or Deathmatch.
- Open the console and type
map de_cacheto launch an offline match with bots.- Enter
bot_kickif you want a private server to practice movement or utility.
- Enter
This setup lets you test callouts, refine grenade lineups, and study timings before it joins Premier. Current expectations place its Premier debut around late June or early July 2026, alongside Season 5. When that update arrives, you will also see a new Cache Collection added to the game.
