Counter-Strike’s latest patch adds the Dead Hand Collection and introduces a new unlock method called the Dead Hand Terminal. This update changes how you access newly released skins and expands the range of cosmetic options available in-game.
You can use the Dead Hand Terminal to obtain items from the Dead Hand Collection and add them to your inventory. Understanding how this system works will help you decide whether to open, trade, or hold the items you receive.
What Is the Dead Hand Terminal?
The Dead Hand Terminal acts as a dedicated container for items from the Dead Hand Collection. Instead of functioning like a traditional case tied to random market availability, it appears directly in your inventory through the weekly drop system.
When you receive the Terminal, you gain access to the full pool of items assigned to this collection. It contains:
- 17 weapon finishes
- 22 newly introduced glove designs
You do not need a separate key to open it. Once it drops, you can redeem items from the collection through the Terminal system, which replaces the older case-and-key format with a weekly reward model.
How to Unlock the Dead Hand Terminal
Play on official CS2 servers and stay eligible for your Weekly Care Package. You must level up your account through regular matches to qualify for drops.
If the Dead Hand Terminal appears in your weekly reward, it moves directly into your inventory.
Open the Terminal from your inventory to access items from the Dead Hand Collection. No key is required to use it.
What Items Are Part of the Dead Hand Set?
You can obtain 39 total cosmetics through this release, divided between weapon finishes and gloves.
- 17 weapon skins created by community designers
- 22 entirely new glove finishes added as rare special items
The weapon skins cover a range of firearms and follow standard CS2 wear tiers and rarity levels. The gloves expand your customization options with fresh models and patterns not previously available.
Unlike traditional cases, you access these items through the Dead Hand Terminal, which removes the need for purchasing keys.
