Clash of Clans: Prospector is He Worth It Ore Rates Daily Tips 2026

Clash of Clans added the Prospector as a seasonal Helper in the February 2026 update, giving Gold Pass players a new way to manage their Ores. You can use this Helper to convert one type of Ore into another once every 23 hours, which helps you balance your upgrade resources.

If you often stall Hero Equipment upgrades because you lack a specific Ore, the Prospector gives you more control over your progress. Instead of waiting to farm the exact type you need, you can adjust your supply and keep your upgrades moving.

What Is the Prospector in Clash of Clans?

The Prospector is a non-combat Helper who stays near the Helper Hut in your Home Village. You cannot deploy him in attacks, and enemies cannot target him. He also does not take up a builder or require upgrades.

His single role is clear: he converts one type of Ore into another. This lets you turn excess Shiny, Glowy, or other Ore types into the resource you actually need for Hero Equipment upgrades.

Key details about the Prospector:

  • Available through the Gold Pass starting March 2026
  • Introduced after being previewed during the Equipment Blast Event
  • Part of a broader Gold Pass redesign
  • Focused entirely on resource conversion, not combat

You use him to manage capped Ores more efficiently instead of letting valuable resources sit unused.

Getting Access to the Prospector in Clash of Clans

You can only use the Prospector during a season in which you meet specific requirements. He does not stay in your village permanently, so you must qualify each time he becomes available.

To unlock him, you need to meet all of the following conditions:

  • Reach Town Hall 10 or higher
  • Purchase and activate the Gold Pass for the current season
  • Earn 2,400 Season Points on the Gold Pass reward track

Players below Town Hall 10 do not receive him, even with the Gold Pass.

After you hit 2,400 points, claim the Prospector directly from the Gold Pass rewards. He then moves to your Helper Hut and remains there until the season ends. If you miss the point requirement or skip the Gold Pass, you must wait for a future season to unlock him again.

Ore Exchange Mechanics

You can swap Shiny, Glowy, and Starry Ore through the Prospector, but you only get one exchange per day. Each swap also has a strict limit on how much you can convert in a single use.

Daily conversion limits

From To Maximum Per Day
Shiny Glowy 2,000 → 120
Shiny Starry 2,000 → 2
Glowy Shiny 120 → 2,000
Glowy Starry 120 → 2
Starry Shiny 2 → 2,000
Starry Glowy 2 → 120

You cannot exceed these caps, even if you hold more Ore in storage. Plan your swap carefully, especially when converting into Starry, since the return is much smaller.

To complete a conversion, open the Helper Hut, choose the Ore you want to spend, select the Ore you want to receive, and confirm. After you finish, the Prospector enters a cooldown of about 23 hours before you can convert again.

How Each Ore Type Impacts Your Upgrades

You rely on three distinct Ore types to improve Hero Equipment, and each one plays a different role in your upgrade path. If you ignore the differences, you slow your own progress.

Shiny Ore appears most often. You collect it from regular attacks, Star Bonuses, and special events, and you spend it on almost every early Equipment level. Because it flows in steadily, it rarely limits you at higher Town Halls.

Glowy Ore shows up less frequently and starts to matter more as you push into mid-level and Epic Equipment upgrades. When costs increase, this resource often becomes the first pressure point.

Starry Ore remains the rarest. You mainly need it for advanced Epic Equipment levels, especially the highest tiers. It drops in smaller amounts and mostly from stronger opponents, so you build it slowly.

Ore Type Availability Main Use
Shiny Common Early upgrades
Glowy Uncommon Mid to Epic levels
Starry Rare High Epic levels

Should You Use the Prospector?

The Prospector does not create extra Ore. He lets you convert one Ore type into another, so you shift resources instead of increasing them.

You gain the most value if you log in every day and activate his conversion on cooldown. He helps when your Shiny or Glowy Ore often reaches capacity and you need Starry Ore for Epic Equipment upgrades. He also supports you when you upgrade multiple Hero Equipment pieces at the same time.

He matters less if you play casually and miss daily conversions. You also will not benefit much if you have not reached Town Hall 10, rarely unlock him through Season Points, or have not started investing heavily in Hero Equipment.

Get the Most Value from the Prospector in Clash of Clans

Unlock the Prospector as soon as you reach 2,400 Season Points. Early access gives you more daily conversions before the season resets, which increases your total Ore gains over time.

Set a clear goal for your upgrades. Focus on one priority resource, such as Glowy or Starry Ore, and convert toward that target consistently instead of changing direction every day.

Monitor your storage limits. When Shiny or Glowy Ore nears its cap, convert the excess into a rarer type to prevent waste and keep your production efficient.

Pair daily conversions with active play. Farm in Legend League, complete Clan Wars, and join events so your Ore supply refills steadily.

Treat the Prospector like a daily task. One quick conversion each day adds up across a full season.

Prospector vs. Alchemist

You use these two Helpers for different upgrade paths. The Alchemist changes core resources—Gold, Elixir, and Dark Elixir—into other resource types to support building and troop progress.

The Prospector, in contrast, works only with Ores. He lets you convert one Ore type into another, which directly supports Hero Equipment upgrades rather than base development.

Key differences:

  • Alchemist: Converts resources and provides a small bonus on each conversion.
  • Prospector: Converts Ores only and does not grant extra materials.

You rely on the Alchemist for economy management, while the Prospector supports equipment progression.
