Getting Access to the Prospector in Clash of Clans
You can only use the Prospector during a season in which you meet specific requirements. He does not stay in your village permanently, so you must qualify each time he becomes available.
To unlock him, you need to meet all of the following conditions:
- Reach Town Hall 10 or higher
- Purchase and activate the Gold Pass for the current season
- Earn 2,400 Season Points on the Gold Pass reward track
Players below Town Hall 10 do not receive him, even with the Gold Pass.
After you hit 2,400 points, claim the Prospector directly from the Gold Pass rewards. He then moves to your Helper Hut and remains there until the season ends. If you miss the point requirement or skip the Gold Pass, you must wait for a future season to unlock him again.
Ore Exchange Mechanics
You can swap Shiny, Glowy, and Starry Ore through the Prospector, but you only get one exchange per day. Each swap also has a strict limit on how much you can convert in a single use.

You cannot exceed these caps, even if you hold more Ore in storage. Plan your swap carefully, especially when converting into Starry, since the return is much smaller.
To complete a conversion, open the Helper Hut, choose the Ore you want to spend, select the Ore you want to receive, and confirm. After you finish, the Prospector enters a cooldown of about 23 hours before you can convert again.
How Each Ore Type Impacts Your Upgrades
You rely on three distinct Ore types to improve Hero Equipment, and each one plays a different role in your upgrade path. If you ignore the differences, you slow your own progress.
Shiny Ore appears most often. You collect it from regular attacks, Star Bonuses, and special events, and you spend it on almost every early Equipment level. Because it flows in steadily, it rarely limits you at higher Town Halls.
Glowy Ore shows up less frequently and starts to matter more as you push into mid-level and Epic Equipment upgrades. When costs increase, this resource often becomes the first pressure point.
