Call Of Duty Warzone Black Ops Royale Solo Queue

You can now drop into Black Ops Royale alone, as Raven Software adds the long-requested solo queue to Call of Duty: Warzone. The update arrives during Season 2, which has helped renew interest in the shooter despite a quieter reception for Black Ops 7.

Black Ops Royale launched with the Season 2 Reloaded update as a reworked version of the classic Blackout mode from Black Ops 4. You won’t find features like the Gulag, Buy Stations, or custom loadouts, since the mode focuses on scavenging and survival. While it was designed around squad play, you now have the option to experience it on your own.

Call of Duty Warzone Black Ops Royale Adds a Solo Queue

You can now drop into Black Ops Royale without relying on a four-person squad. Raven Software activated a dedicated Solo playlist one week after the mode debuted, with matchmaking going live at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. You can access it through both public matchmaking and private lobbies.

At launch, Black Ops Royale supported Quads only, which frustrated players who prefer independent play. Many expected a Solo option on day one, especially given Warzone’s history of offering multiple squad sizes. Continued feedback pushed the developer to respond quickly rather than wait for extended balancing adjustments.

Before you queue up alone, you should understand one key detail. The mode was originally structured and tuned around four-player teams.

That design focus affects pacing, loot flow, survivability, and combat encounters. Enemy density, map traversal, and revival mechanics all assume coordinated squads. As a result, Solo matches may feel different from modes built specifically for one-player competition.

Raven Software has stated that further tuning will follow. You can expect balance updates over time as data from Solo matches comes in.

Many players welcomed the fast rollout despite the caveat. Instead of delaying the feature for extensive recalibration, the studio prioritized giving you the option immediately.

What the Solo Playlist Includes

  • Standard public matchmaking
  • Private match support
  • The same core Avalon map
  • Identical core mechanics to Quads

You are not playing a separate ruleset. You are entering the same ecosystem without teammates.

That distinction matters on Avalon. The map is significantly larger than the original Blackout environment, and some players already view it as spacious even with 100 competitors. In Solo matches, you may notice longer stretches between engagements depending on your drop location and rotation path.

Some players have suggested increasing the lobby count from 100 to 150 to raise encounter frequency. Others argue that Black Ops Royale should remain distinct from traditional Warzone pacing. If you prefer slower positioning and deliberate engagements, the current structure may suit you.

The debate reflects two different expectations:

Player Preference Desired Experience
Higher player count Faster engagements, more constant pressure
Current 100-player cap Measured pacing, tactical rotations
Warzone-style chaos High-density firefights
Blackout-style identity Strategic positioning and survival focus

You now decide which side of that spectrum fits your playstyle.

Black Ops Royale arrived as part of the Season 2 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The update delivered broader changes across the ecosystem, including a new Zombies map called Paradox Junction, expanded PvE Endgame content, additional multiplayer maps and weapons, and adjustments to Ranked Play progression.

If you stepped away from standard Warzone rotations, this mode offers a different rhythm. The addition of Solo matchmaking strengthens that appeal by removing squad dependency.

For reference, Call of Duty: Warzone launched on March 10, 2020 and carries an M for Mature rating. It supports cross-platform play across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox systems, with full cross-progression enabled. Black Ops Royale operates within that shared infrastructure, so your progression and unlocks remain connected.

You can access the mode on:

  • PC
  • PS4 and PS5
  • Xbox One
  • Xbox Series X|S

The Solo queue does not change the core identity of Black Ops Royale. It simply gives you control over how you enter the battlefield.

If you prefer relying on your own positioning, awareness, and gun skill without squad coordination, you now have that option.
