Blizzard reveals backstory for new Overwatch 2 hero

Blizzard Entertainment has pulled back the curtain and revealed one of the new heroes coming to Overwatch 2. The new Hero will go by the name Sojourn.

Sojourn's real name is Vivian Chase and she is a commander of the Canadian Special Forces. These troops worked closely with Overwatch during the Omnic Crisis, and Sojourn also worked with Jack Morrison, better known as Soldier:76 here. The full video on Sojourn's backstory can be seen in the tweet posted by Activision Blizzard on April 13.

Sojourn hyped up Overwatch 2 beta

„Even the best journeys end,“ Sojourn said in the short clip. „But there's a new one right around the corner. And you never know where that road might take you.“

The not-so-subtle tease is pretty meta, as the developer is using Sojourn to hype up the upcoming Overwatch 2 beta set to come out later this month. Sojourn will be the first new playable hero of the beta, and it is very likely that she will be added over time.

The beta for the new title, which begins on April 26 and is only available to a closed group, will feature a host of new additions to the game. Among other things, there will be a new five-on-five mode and includes the new Push PvP mode. There will also be four new maps, a new ping system and hero-reworks for Orisa, Doomifst, Bastion and Sombra.

Overwatch 2 is now in development and no release date has been announced yet. But with the beta launching soon, the hype surrounding the FPS franchise will undoubtedly rise again.
