Elder Jinchi Boss Guide

Location of Elder Jinchi, the Hidden Boss in the First Chapter

To face Elder Jinchi, it’s essential to ring three bells located throughout Chapter 1. After striking these bells, you will be transported to the Ancient Guanyin Temple. This is a revisited arena where you previously battled the Wolf Demon. In this altered scenario, Elder Jinchi awaits as the boss, presenting a new combat challenge.

Assessing Elder Jinchi’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Elder Jinchi mirrors the abilities of the Wandering Wight, making them comparable in many aspects. This boss uses stomping, clapping, and arm-swinging attacks capable of ground explosions. However, Elder Jinchi is particularly vulnerable to fire and poison attacks. Utilizing abilities such as Gangzhi (transformation) and Guangmou (spirit form) can significantly reduce his health.

Strategies for Defeating Elder Jinchi

Distance Management

Maintain distance to avoid Elder Jinchi’s area-of-effect (AOE) attacks. Try to attack only when there is a safe opportunity, reducing the risk of taking significant damage.

Dodge Mechanics

Dodge mechanics play a critical role in this battle. Mastering dodges helps avoid Elder Jinchi’s earth-shaking attacks, which can otherwise deplete a substantial portion of your health.

Using the Immobilize Spell

Utilize the immobilize spell at every opportunity. This spell, available early in the game, can momentarily freeze Elder Jinchi, providing vital openings for attacks.

Employing Guangmou Spirit Form and Guangzhi

Activate Guangmou spirit form and Guangzhi transformation when possible. These abilities amplify your attack damage, making them effective tools against Elder Jinchi’s defenses.

Handling Reinforcements

Be wary of the zombies Elder Jinchi summons. These reinforcements can chip away at your health, so eliminate them quickly with your staff. Pay special attention to the zombies that run towards Elder Jinchi while he’s praying, as they can restore his health, prolonging the fight and increasing the risk of defeat due to fatigue.
