Battlefield 2042: New mini update 3.1 is live

Since the failed launch of Battlefield 2042, developer DICE has been working hard on improvements for the game. What changes does patch 3.1 take care of?

The release of Battlefield 2042 is only a few weeks ago, but DICE has already released enough updates. That's not surprising, since the community was anything but satisfied when the shooter was released. In the meantime, we have arrived at patch 3.1, which is significantly smaller than previous updates. We'll tell you what the developers have worked on this time.

Focus on vehicles & hit detection

Battlefield 2042 has its rough edges, both in terms of balancing in the game as well as numerous bugs and other errors. The strength of individual content has already been improved in the past few weeks, and now the vehicles are getting a facelift. The 30 mm cannon against infantry has been noticeably worsened. The rate of fire is now significantly lower, the weapon overheats faster and the explosion damage has also been reduced. The 57mm cannon has a similar fate. Here, the damage has even been halved.

Let's move on to the weapons. Although the dispersion of most weapons has been increased, the accuracy of the hip fire of all SMGs has been improved. In addition, a bug has been fixed that caused shots fired from the SFAR-M GL and the K30 to hit below the actual target. For gadgets, the time before the fragmentation grenade detonates has increased from 1.1 to 1.4 seconds. To compensate for this, the damage goes up so that even armored enemies can be taken out with one explosion.

Apart from that, the patch notes contain the usual bug fixes for audio and menu problems. It is already known that update 3.1 concludes the year 2021 and that further improvements for Battlefield 2042 can only be expected in January.
