Amazon University Esports: enrollment kicks off for 2022

The third edition of Amazon University Esports Italia, with the support of PG Esports, is getting ready to inaugurate the competitive season 2022, offering Italian university students the opportunity to show off their skills and take their first steps in the esport scene that really counts, trying to get noticed by the best professional teams in Europe.

Registrations are officially open to form the teams that will compete in League of Legends, the MOBA par excellence, Clash Royale, the popular mobile strategy game, Legends of Runeterra, the online card game by Riot, the frenetic Rocket League and chess, a discipline rich in history and charm. Teams have until February 2 to register on the competition website, while the battle will begin on February 3. Teams will compete for victory until early April, chasing the dream of earning the title of best university team at the national level, and then go on to represent their country and their institution in Europe.

University Esports: the foundation of the European scene
As it has been happening for years in the main countries of the world, also in Italy the attention towards Esports is increasing and more and more fans are participating in the most varied competitions. Competitive videogames are becoming a real mass phenomenon, just think that Italy is third in Europe for the diffusion of competitive gaming and that 48% of Italians between 16 and 65 years old are familiar with it, for a penetration rate of about one person in two. In such a scenario, the university scene becomes more and more important, as it is considered by the best professional teams around a fertile ground to grow the champions of tomorrow, as demonstrated by the efforts of Amazon, PG Esports and GGTech.

Growing together with Esports

Amazon University Esports Italia, in fact, has more and more participants in each edition, including universities and students from all over the peninsula, encouraging even more socialization among young people and increasing team spirit. The creation of a university community, the sharing and the sense of belonging are, in fact, the real pillars on which the competition is based, which aims not only to find new talent, but also to be an enriching and stimulating experience for all participants and for the industry in general. As for the organization of the tournament, however, GGTech will rely on the collaboration of PG Esports, the first Italian company dedicated to competitive gaming and reference point of the industry at the national level.
