You can now look ahead to the full VALORANT lineup for the Esports World Cup 2026, where 16 teams will compete in Paris. The tournament runs from July 2 to July 16 and brings together squads that earned their place through regional success and hard-fought qualification paths.
Regional champions claimed direct entries, while other contenders battled through qualifiers to secure the remaining spots. As the event approaches, you can expect a diverse field of teams ready to compete on one of the biggest international stages in VALORANT.
Tournament format
You will see 16 teams compete, including the defending champion, Team Heretics, who earned an automatic berth by winning the 2025 edition. Regional champions from VCT EMEA, Pacific, China, and the Americas also secured direct entry. Because Team Heretics already qualified through their title defense, their regional slot moved to the runner-up from EMEA.
The event begins with a Group Stage featuring four groups of four teams each.
- Each group uses a double-elimination bracket
- Opening and winners’ matches are played as best-of-one (Bo1)
- Elimination and decider matches are played as best-of-three (Bo3)
- The top two teams from each group advance
Eight teams move on to the Playoffs.
The final phase uses a single-elimination bracket. All matches are played as best-of-three (Bo3), except the grand final, which uses a best-of-five (Bo5) format. The tournament winner not only claims the largest share of the $2,000,000 prize pool, but also secures a direct place at the 2027 edition of the Esports World Cup.
