You can unlock a wide range of cosmetics in Overwatch, but mythic weapon skins stand apart from standard hero skins. Hero skins change a character’s full appearance, while mythic weapon skins focus only on the look and effects of the weapon you carry in matches.
The game currently features 12 mythic weapon skins, each with its own design and unlock requirements. You need to understand how these skins differ and what steps you must take to add each one to your collection.
All Overwatch Mythic Weapons
Mythic weapon skins change how your hero’s weapon looks, sounds, and reacts in combat. You unlock them through the Mythic Shop using Mythic Prisms, which you earn or purchase in Overwatch 2.
Each weapon starts at a base cost of 50 Mythic Prisms. You can then buy additional upgrade tiers for 10 Prisms per level, bringing the full investment to 80 Mythic Prisms for a fully upgraded version.
Below is the complete lineup of currently available Mythic weapon skins:
| Hero | Mythic Weapon | Total Cost (Fully Upgraded) |
|---|---|---|
| Hanzo | Tokyo Rebel | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Genji | Sumi-Ichimonji | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Juno | Star Shooter | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Orisa | Capsule Cannon | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Kiriko | Spirit Keeper | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Cassidy | Blazing Sunsetter | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Reaper | Steel Death | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Mercy | Merciful Magitech | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Widowmaker | Dame Chance | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Ashe | Lead Rose | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Soldier: 76 | Deliverance | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Ana | Midnight Sun | 80 Mythic Prisms |
| Reinhardt | Bound Demon | 80 Mythic Prisms |
When you purchase the base tier, you immediately change your weapon’s core appearance. As you unlock higher tiers, you add enhanced visual effects, reactive elements, and other cosmetic upgrades that trigger during eliminations or specific in-game actions.
You buy and upgrade these weapons directly in the Mythic Shop interface. The system lets you unlock the base version first, then decide whether you want to invest more Prisms into advanced customization.
Unlike standard legendary weapon skins, Mythic weapons focus entirely on your hero’s primary tool rather than their full character model. This design keeps your hero’s outfit intact while giving your gameplay animations a distinct visual identity.
If you plan to collect multiple Mythic weapons, track your Prism balance carefully. Fully upgrading even a single weapon requires a significant amount, and you must purchase each hero’s Mythic weapon separately.
These skins remain hero-specific, so you cannot transfer them between characters. You unlock, upgrade, and equip them individually through your hero customization menu.
Reinhardt’s Mythic Weapon Skin: Bound Demon
You unlock Bound Demon through the Mythic Shop using 50 Mythic Shards for the base version.
You can add upgrades for:
- Weapon flourish
- Elimination effects
- Reactive visuals
Each tier enhances how your hammer looks and responds in combat.
