All about Warzone Pacific Season 1

With the arrival of Warzone Pacific Season 1, a new chapter begins for the popular Battle Royale game. The first season of Warzone Pacific integrates the game with Call of Duty: Vanguard and Caldera replaces the Verdansk map. We take you through everything the new season brings to get off to a flying start.

The system of seasons within Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific is similar to that of Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War. This means that players can expect new weapons, operators and a brand new battle pass each season. Though we're pretty sure Warzone Pacific Season 1 isn't going to be outdone.

Warzone Pacific Season 1 release

The Warzone Pacific Season 1 release is on December 9, 2021. However, those who own Call of Duty: Vanguard can play the new Warzone Pacific map Caldera on December 8. The first season of Warzone Pacific was initially scheduled to go live about a week earlier. Until its release, the „pre-season“ within Call of Duty: Vanguard will remain active.

Warzone Pacific Season 1 roadmap

In the roadmap of the first season of Warzone Pacific, you can see at a glance what Season 1 brings. For example, we see the various Warzone updates, such as the map Caldera, the Vanguard weapons that will be added and the game mode Vanguard Royale. Furthermore, the roadmap also shows the new content for Call of Duty: Vanguard and Zombies.

Warzone Pacific Season 1 trailer

Two days before the release, the developers of the trailer below posted on the Call of Duty blog. In the trailer, we see the peaceful island of Caldera turn into a huge battlefield. Besides the different locations of the map, we also see some of the new vehicles.

Caldera and Rebirth Island

Say you say Warzone Pacific, then you say Caldera. Caldera is the new map that replaces Verdansk. If you look at the map, you will see overwhelming forests, large rocks, beautiful white beaches and mysterious ruins. Furthermore, the screenshots show a lot of greenery and water. Verdansk's large stadium and tall skyscrapers make way for a rugged landscape with modest buildings.

Caldera and Rebirth Island

Caldera and Rebirth Island

As shown in the image above, the island of Caldera can be divided into 15 areas. These are Arsenal, Docks, Runway, Ruins, Mines, Peak, Beachhead, Village, Lagoon, Airfield, Fields, Sub Pen, Power Plant, Capital and Resort.

Warzone says goodbye to Verdansk, but what happens to Rebirth Island? This map will remain playable within Warzone Pacific, as will the game mode Plunder. Warzone players can therefore continue to choose between a large and a small map. After all, Caldera is similar to Verdansk in terms of size.

Integration with Vanguard and Vanguard Royale

The integration of Call of Duty: Vanguard with Warzone Pacific brings new features. All weapons and operators will transfer to Warzone. The current set of weapons from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War will continue to exist. This significantly grows the arsenal within the Battle Royale game. Players can choose from nearly 150 weapons when creating the best Warzone loadouts.

Vanguard Royale is the new game mode within Warzone Pacific. The goal within Vanguard Royale is simple: to be the last one left alive. In addition to ground combat, this game mode also features airborne combat! With aircraft and anti-aircraft guns, this Battle Royale game suddenly gets a lot more dynamic. Vanguard Royale is free to play for everyone. Only the weapons from the Second World War era can be used.

The Gulag in Warzone Pacific Season 1

With the entrance of Warzone Pacific Season 1, the Gulag is also getting an update. On the Call of Duty website, the developers reveal that the Gulag is changing. The winner of the Gulag will return to Caldera with the weapons and equipment used in the all-decisive battle. This will give players more chances when they return and also requires them to think more carefully about their tactics within the Gulag.

Loadout available later

Collecting cash immediately after landing and buying your favorite Warzone loadout as soon as possible? You can put that tactic out of your mind. After all, the first season of Warzone Pacific brings with it adjustments to the loadout. Players can now only purchase a loadout drop marker after the first in-game loadout drop event. This decision has caused much controversy within the Warzone community.

New maps and weapons in Vanguard

Logically, the attention at the start of this new season is focused on Warzone. However, Call of Duty: Vanguard is also getting new content. No less than three new weapons will be added to the game in Vanguard Season 1. These are the Cooper Carbine (assault rifle), Gorenko anti-tank rifle (sniper rifle) and the Welgun (submachine gun).

The two new maps are Paradise and Radar. Radar is a remake of the popular Modern Warfare 3 map Dome. Both maps will be available at the start of the first season.

Warzone Pacific Season 1 Battle Pass

The first season of Warzone Pacific and Call of Duty: Vanguard will of course also get its own battle pass. In this season pass there are again plenty of rewards, such as operators, calling cards, emblems, blue prints and much more. Call of Duty is also fully integrated again this season, which means that you take all progression in Warzone with you to the Call of Duty Multiplayer and Call of Duty Zombies.
