When does the Modern Warfare 2 beta start?
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta seems to start on August 15. This can be gathered from an official listing for the PlayStation 5 version on Amazon. This date has not yet been officially released, but with a release date of October 28, this date could well be correct.
The beta will not start for everyone at the same time. Again, owners of a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will be given priority. Although no official information has been given about this yet, the beta can probably be divided into three phases:
- Phase 1: PlayStation players with pre-orders
- Phase 2: Xbox/PC players with pre-orders
- Phase 3: All players with or without pre-order
How do I play the Modern Warfare 2 beta?
To gain access to the Modern Warfare 2 beta, you must place a pre-order. Those who place a pre-order for a physical game will receive a code with it (with a receipt, for example). This must be redeemed to gain access to the beta. It concerns a 13-digit code.
Are you placing a pre-order for a digital version? Then you do not need to redeem a code. You will be registered directly with the account with which you purchased the game.
Game modes in the Modern Warfare 2 beta
At the moment it is not clear which game modes will be available in the Modern Warfare 2 beta. Still, if we look at the past, we can form a pretty good picture. In 2019, the game modes Team Deathmatch, Domination, Headquarters and Gunfight (2v2) were made available in Modern Warfare.
Whether an alpha will be available to the general public ahead of the Modern Warfare 2 beta is unclear at this time. That was the case in 2019. Back then, fans were introduced to the game's Gunfight mode.
