You can take part in Junkrat’s Loot Hunt from March 8 through March 12 to earn free in-game rewards. During this limited-time event, you have the chance to unlock up to nine loot boxes simply by playing.
Each loot box can grant cosmetic items such as character skins, weapon charms, emotes, and voice lines. If you want to expand your collection without spending money, this event gives you a clear opportunity to do so over the course of the weekend.
Free Overwatch loot boxes this weekend
From March 8 to March 12, you can unlock up to nine free loot boxes during Junkrat’s Loot Hunt.
Complete nine event challenges, each tied to playing matches against other players. You only need to participate in standard PvP games to progress.

Overwatch Junkrat’s Loot Hunt guide
You begin with the opening task, “A Fresh Start,” which grants one Loot Box and unlocks the next objective in the chain. Each challenge requires you to complete five matches before you can move forward.
You cannot progress through every task at the same time, but you can speed up completion with smart play. A win counts as double progress toward your current challenge.
Queue for Stadium mode to double your progress again. If you win in Stadium, you earn up to 4x progress in a single match, letting you unlock all nine Loot Boxes much faster.
Overwatch Hatred’s Reckoning Event
As you complete objectives tied to Junkrat’s Loot Hunt, you also make progress toward rewards from the Hatred’s Reckoning crossover. This limited-time collaboration connects Overwatch with Diablo IV’s Lord of Hatred expansion.
You can unlock themed cosmetics, including:
- Two Moira voice lines
- A Lilith-inspired player icon
- A matching name card
These items reflect Moira’s Diablo-themed design and expand your collection with crossover content.
Overwatch double XP weekend now live
You can now earn double Battle Pass XP throughout the weekend. Every completed match grants twice the usual progression, and the bonus applies whether you win or lose.
