Epic Games has officially revealed that the Ranked Reload feature will arrive with the update scheduled for September 24. This update coincides with the anticipated 2024 Fortnite birthday celebration, which is also expected to start on the same day. Players can likely access Ranked Reload around mid-morning, approximately 9 or 10 a.m. ET.
Which Modes Are Accessible in Ranked Play?
Fortnite Ranked Reload incorporates both a traditional Battle Royale with building and a Zero Build mode. Players can choose between Duos or Squads for their team arrangements.
Unlocking the Felina Skin
To obtain the Felina skin in Fortnite, players need to engage in the new Ranked Reload mode. After the update on September 24, accumulating 50 account levels is necessary to unlock the Felina skin, a reward for dedicated gameplay. In addition, 25 account levels are required to unlock the accompanying pickaxe. Account levels are separate from seasonal Battle Pass levels and carry over between seasons. Players can track their progress by visiting the ‚Career‘ tab in the game interface.
What is Fortnite Reload?
Fortnite Reload introduces an exhilarating, fast-paced game mode that launched in June 2024. This mode creates an intense environment by combining elements from the classic Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. Players can select various squad sizes, joining their allies on a smaller adaptation of Fortnite's iconic Chapter 1 map.
The core objective is straightforward and engaging: teams must persist through each match's duration while aiming to be the last one standing. Upon defeat, players aren't immediately out of the game. Instead, they experience a respawn system, activated when the reboot timer concludes. Initially, reboot timers are set to 30 seconds and gradually extend to 40 seconds later in matches.
Players and their teams can gain a tactical advantage by reducing reboot timers. A successful opponent takedown decreases the timer by 2 seconds, while eliminating an enemy reduces it by 4 seconds. Completely destroying an opposition squad significantly cuts the reboot time by 10 seconds.
Players who are downed have the option to initiate their reboot timer immediately, bypassing waiting for a revival from teammates. This adds a strategic layer, especially as matches approach their conclusion. Notably, towards the end, the respawn feature will halt, and any teammates lost will not return to the battlefield. This mechanic demands players to carefully plan their approach as the match progresses.
