Unlocking Spirits in Black Myth Wukong involves progressing through the main storyline until reaching the Snake Trail shrine in Bamboo Grove. This can be done in Chapter 1, making it accessible early in the game. Once at the Snake Trail shrine, ascend the stairs nearby. At the top, players will encounter an elderly figure near a wooden table adorned with candles.

Approach this character and initiate a conversation. Following this interaction, the old man will upgrade the player's Gourd. This upgrade is essential, as it allows the player to harness and use Spirits throughout their journey in the game.

How to Get Spirits in Black Myth Wukong

Spirits in Black Myth: Wukong are obtained by defeating certain enemies. When taking down Yaoguai Chiefs or random adversaries, a blue flame will appear. This blue flame represents the Spirit you can pick up and later equip for combat use.

If your character falls before collecting the blue flame, you can return to the area to retrieve it. One of the initial enemies, the Wandering Wight, will be your first source of a blue flame. You encounter this enemy relatively early, but its Spirit will only be usable once you upgrade your Gourd.
