League of Legends – Team Liquid terminates contract with Jensen

Danish League of Legends pro Nicolaj „Jensen“ Jensen will no longer be part of Team Liquid in the future. The eSports organization terminated his contract prematurely. The reason for this is probably the signing of Søren „Bjergsen“ Bjerg.

Jensen has been part of Team Liquid's lineup in the LCS since November 2018. In that time, he has won the Split Championship twice, both in 2019, and finished second at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational. According to recent reports, his time with Team Liquid now seems to be over. For example, the contract was terminated early by the eSports organization, even though it was renewed for three years just a year ago and is said to be worth an estimated four million US dollars.

While the organization thanked the mid-laner on Twitter for his efforts over the past three years, the early departure leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Bjergsen instead of Jensen – Team Liquid

Although Jensen had already announced in the run-up to this year's World Championship that he might not play for Liquid in the coming split, the final nail in the coffin was probably the signing of superstar Søren „Bjergsen“ Bjerg.

He announced his return as an active player after one year as head coach. To everyone's astonishment, however, he did not choose TSM, but Team Liquid instead. He himself is a co-owner of Team SoloMid and was a member of the eSports organization for more than seven years.
