Wuthering Waves Xbox Game Pass

You will soon be able to play Wuthering Waves on Xbox, with its launch set for July 2026. The open-world action RPG first arrived in May 2024 as Kuro Games’ take on the gacha formula, emphasizing faster combat, detailed visuals, and systems designed to be more accommodating for players. After a mixed debut, steady updates and improvements helped it gain wider recognition, including a major player-voted award in 2025.

You may have already seen its expansion to PS5 in early 2025, which introduced the game to a broader console audience despite technical concerns around optimization. Ongoing updates, including the Rinascita arc and Version 3.0’s new region and story content, earned strong feedback from players. Now, as you continue exploring its evolving world, the Xbox release marks the next step in the game’s platform growth.

Wuthering Waves Arrives on Xbox Platforms in July 2026

Kuro Games will bring Wuthering Waves to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox for PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming in July 2026. The studio confirmed the release during the March 26, 2026 Xbox showcase, expanding the game beyond its current availability on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android.

You will access the same core experience already available on other platforms, including full story content and ongoing live updates. The Xbox version will also support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing shared progression across console and PC within the Microsoft ecosystem.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive exclusive in-game benefits at launch. Kuro Games has not detailed the exact rewards, but the bonuses will apply only to Game Pass members.

Business Model Free-to-play with gacha system

You step into the role of the Rover, a protagonist who awakens in the world of Solaris-3 after a catastrophic event known as the Lament. You explore a large, evolving map while recruiting characters called Resonators, each built around specific combat roles and elemental abilities.

Combat emphasizes fast, combo-driven action with dodge timing, skill rotations, and character switching. The structure encourages you to build synergistic teams rather than rely on a single unit.

Character acquisition follows a banner-based gacha model. The system includes:

  • pity cap at 80 pulls for 5-Star characters
  • Guaranteed outcomes on specific weapon banners
  • Event-limited character rotations

These mechanics shape how you plan your currency spending and roster growth.

By the time the Xbox version launches, the live service roadmap suggests you will enter during Version 3.4 or 3.5, depending on update cadence. If updates continue at the current pace, Version 3.3 will run from April 29 to June 10, 2026, marking the game’s second anniversary.

That anniversary update introduces two new 5-Star characters, Hiyuki and Denia, along with additional event rewards. If you begin on Xbox in late July, you will likely join after those banners conclude, though new events should already be active.

Content depth will not be an issue at launch. By mid-2026, you can expect access to four major regions:

  • Huanglong
  • Black Shores
  • Rinascita
  • Roya Frostlands

Each region expands exploration zones, questlines, enemy types, and environmental mechanics. You progress through story chapters while unlocking traversal upgrades and endgame systems.

Performance remains a point of discussion. The PlayStation 5 version faced optimization concerns at launch, particularly with frame stability. The July 2026 window gives Kuro Games additional time to refine performance on Xbox Series S, which presents stricter hardware limits than Series X.

If optimization efforts succeed, you should see stable frame rates and improved technical consistency across platforms. Cloud support will also allow lower-spec hardware users to stream the game without installing it locally.

Critically, Wuthering Waves holds a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, reflecting solid reception within the action RPG space. Reviewers often highlight its combat responsiveness and production values while noting that live-service balancing continues to evolve.

Multiplayer remains online-focused, allowing cooperative activities rather than competitive PvP. You primarily engage in shared PvE challenges and event content.

When the Xbox version launches, you will enter a live, mature ecosystem rather than a new-service environment. Multiple regions, established character pools, and ongoing seasonal updates will already shape the experience.

July 2026 marks the first time Xbox players can fully explore Solaris-3 natively within the Microsoft platform family.
