Valorant: Cypher Disabled Bug Spycam

You cannot select Cypher in any queue right now because Riot Games removed him after a serious Spycam bug surfaced. The issue lets players place a Sheriff into his camera and fire through it, damaging enemies without exposing their own position or the source of the shots.

This exploit gives you the ability to attack safely from cover, which disrupts competitive balance. Riot has not shared a timeline for when Cypher will return to active play.

Cypher Taken Out of Active Play in VALORANT

You cannot select Cypher in any queue right now due to a critical Spycam (E) exploit. The bug lets you drop a weapon, commonly a Sheriff, into the camera and fire through it.

This glitch makes it hard for opponents to track where shots come from. You can deal damage without exposing your position, which disrupts competitive balance.

How the exploit works:

  • Place Spycam
  • Drop a weapon into the camera
  • Fire through the camera’s perspective

Riot confirmed that Cypher will stay disabled while developers deploy a fix. You can expect a short downtime, as similar issues usually resolve within a few days.

Some players have already used the exploit in ranked matches. In certain cases, you can secure multiple eliminations without standing near the objective.

A separate issue has also appeared on Bind. That bug does not affect match outcomes or core gameplay.

When Will Cypher Return to the Active Roster?

Riot has not confirmed a specific date for Cypher’s return. You will need to wait for an official update while the team resolves the Spycam issue.

These types of gameplay bugs typically receive fast fixes, especially when they affect competitive balance. Even so, you cannot predict the exact timeline because testing and deployment depend on the scope of the repair.

While you wait, you can switch to other Sentinel agents in ranked play:

  • Killjoy
  • Sage
  • Veto
  • Deadlock
  • Vyse
  • Chamber

Riot recently handled a similar case with Neon, who left the rotation due to a Fast Lane bug and returned after adjustments in a later patch. You can expect a comparable process here.
