Quarteros Curios: Essential Facts and Key Insights

Quarteros Curios

In the lead-up to The International 2025, Valve has introduced Quartero’s Curios, a new feature for Dota 2 that arrives at a pivotal moment for the community. This addition comes after the retirement of the Battle Pass, a system many players had come to expect around major events.

Quartero’s Curios aims to fill the gap left by its predecessor by offering players a similar experience, focusing on accessible rewards and engagement within the game. While it may not match every expectation, this feature signals Valve’s response to calls for a fresh in-game progression system.

Quartero’s Curios: Free Rewards in Dota 2—Gameplay Required

With Patch 7.39d, Dota 2 unveils Quartero’s Curios—a feature that lets players earn free cosmetic rewards by simply participating in matches. Players accumulate experience across several game modes, including Ranked, Unranked, Turbo, and public matchmaking. Victory offers the fastest route to better rewards, while losses and Turbo mode matches yield less progress.

The event showcases cosmetic effects tied to iconic items, such as Eul’s Scepter and Blink Dagger. Additionally, players can unlock exclusive hero set pieces for Vengeful Spirit, Witch Doctor, and Legion Commander. Although only three new sets are available, the event mimics the progression style of a classic Battle Pass, minus any purchase requirement.

A noticeable draw is the ability to collect visually pleasing item effects and sets without cost. However, some players might wish for a broader selection or rare items not currently offered in the initial reward pool.

Arcana and Immortal Odds – What Can Players Expect?

One of the reward milestones is the Quartero’s Antique, available at six separate stages in the reward track. Each Antique grants a random item from a large pool of more than 100 previously issued hero sets. According to the item description, these can include not just standard sets, but with a minor probability, Immortal or Arcana items as well.

Reward Tier Guaranteed Set? Arcana/Immortal Chance
Quartero’s Antique Yes Small (random, unspecified)

Given there are only six Antiques up for grabs, the statistical likelihood of receiving an Arcana or Immortal is not high. Players should temper expectations, as most rewards will be older hero sets rather than top-tier rare items.

Key Notes:

  • The event continues until November 5, 2025.
  • No confirmation has been provided about future rewards being added before the end date.

This approach offers a no-cost opportunity to expand cosmetic collections, but patience and regular play are necessary for those aiming for rare prizes.
