Overwatch Season 1 Double XP Weekend

Time is limited to take advantage of the final Double XP weekend in March for Overwatch’s 2026 Season 1 Battle Pass. If you still have tiers to complete, you can earn twice the usual Battle Pass XP from your matches before the promotion ends.

Blizzard has offered Double XP on weekends throughout March as part of a player appreciation push. With this last boost now live, you have a short window to finish unlocking Season 1 rewards and make the most of your remaining Battle Pass progress.

Overwatch double XP weekend now live

You can now earn double Battle Pass XP during the final weekend of March. Blizzard says the bonus rewards serve as a direct thank-you for your support throughout Season 1.

Season 1 launched earlier this year with five new heroes and removed the “2” from the game’s title. That relaunch helped drive a sharp rise in player activity across platforms.

SteamDB recorded more than 165,000 concurrent players on Steam when the season began on February 10—about twice the game’s previous 2023 peak. That number does not include Battle.net users, so total participation likely exceeded that figure.

What you gain this weekend:

  • Double Match XP
  • Faster Battle Pass progression
  • Quicker unlocks for seasonal rewards

Queue up and make your matches count while the boost remains active.

Overwatch Season 1 Battle Pass XP explained

You level your Season 1 Battle Pass by earning Battle Pass XP. Each tier requires 10,000 XP, and the pass includes 80 tiers of rewards that unlock as you progress.

You gain XP primarily by playing and finishing matches. The game only awards match XP once the match ends, so leaving early limits your progress.

You can speed up leveling through:

  • Daily challenges
  • Weekly challenges
  • Double Match XP weekends (match XP only)
  • 20% seasonal XP boost if you own the Premium Battle Pass

Double XP events increase match XP but do not multiply challenge rewards, role bonuses, or endorsement bonuses.

The Season 1 pass features several Talon vs. Overwatch-themed skins. Many high-profile cosmetics require the Premium Battle Pass (1,000 Overwatch Coins, about $10 USD).

However, you can unlock some featured skins on the free track:

Tier Free Reward Example
40 New Era Baptiste
70 New Era Brigitte

Premium owners also gain access to additional Legendary skins, Mythic content, and other cosmetic rewards spread across the full 80 tiers.
