CS2: How To Kick Bots

When you play or practice in CS2, bots often fill empty slots on the server. You can control these bots by adding or removing them, which lets you shape the match to fit your goals. This control helps when you want a clean setup for utility practice or focused drills.

You can remove bots quickly with the right console commands. Knowing how to kick bots gives you a more flexible and efficient practice environment without unnecessary distractions.

Console Commands for Removing Bots in CS2

Before entering any commands, turn on the Developer Console in your game settings under the Game tab. Set Enable Developer Console to “Yes.”

If you run a private server, activate cheats first by typing:

sv_cheats 1

Once enabled, use the following commands to clear bots from your match:

Command What It Does
bot_kick Removes all bots from the current server
mp_limitteams 1 Prevents bots from automatically filling empty team slots
mp_autoteambalance 0 Disables automatic team balancing that may re-add bots

Type each command into the console and press Enter to apply it.

Use bot_kick when you want an immediate removal of every AI player. Then apply the team limit and auto-balance settings if you want to keep your lobby bot-free during practice or custom matches.

These commands only function in private or offline environments. You cannot remove bots from official online matchmaking games.

Remove Bots From a Single Team in CS2

If you only want to clear one side, target that team directly instead of removing every bot.

Use these commands:

  • bot_kick ct – Removes bots from the Counter-Terrorist side
  • bot_kick t – Removes bots from the Terrorist side

This approach helps you control team balance without clearing the entire server.

Enter the command that matches the side you want to adjust, and the game will immediately remove those AI players.

Have your say!
