The Katana has joined the weapon lineup in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during Season 3 Reloaded, giving you a new melee option to bring into multiplayer and Warzone matches. Although the main seasonal update has already launched, additional content continues to roll out, including limited-time rewards like this blade.
You can purchase the Katana through a store bundle, but you also have the option to unlock it by completing in-game requirements. Understanding how to earn it through gameplay lets you add the weapon to your loadout without spending extra points.
Unlocking the Katana in Black Ops 7 and Warzone
You unlock the Katana by completing the Call of Duty Endowment C.O.D.E. Navigator Challenge Event. The event runs from May 8, 2026, through May 21, 2026, across both Black Ops 7 and Warzone.
The Katana sits at the end of a reward track that includes eight total items. You must earn the first seven rewards before the game grants you access to the melee weapon.

You progress by completing event-specific challenges. These objectives span multiple modes, including Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone battle royale, so you need to rotate between playlists to finish them efficiently.
Activision has not detailed every individual challenge requirement yet. Expect mode-based tasks that require eliminations, objective play, or match completions.
After you secure the first seven rewards, you must complete one final challenge. The game then unlocks the Katana for use in your loadouts.
