Black Ops 7: How to Get Objective Kills

Unlocking weapon camos in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 often pushes you into specific challenges, and objective kills tend to cause the most frustration. While some camo requirements feel straightforward, this one demands that you secure eliminations while actively playing the objective, which adds pressure and limits your usual playstyle.

You might expect these kills to come naturally in objective-based modes, but they often require more deliberate positioning and timing. If you struggle to make progress, you need a clear understanding of how objective kills work and how to earn them consistently during matches.

Understanding Objective Eliminations in Black Ops 7

An objective kill in Black Ops 7 occurs when you eliminate an opponent who is actively capturing, defending, or contesting a live objective on the map. The key factor is the enemy’s position and interaction with that objective at the moment you secure the kill.

If you stand on a Domination flag or inside a Hardpoint zone and shoot an enemy positioned outside that scoring area, the game does not count that elimination as objective-based. The opponent must be physically involved with the objective itself.

You can confirm an objective elimination by watching for the “Assault” medal that appears on your HUD. This medal signals that the enemy you just defeated was on the objective. If you do not see this medal, the kill will not apply toward objective-based challenges.

To increase your chances of earning these eliminations, focus on specific modes:

  • Hardpoint
  • Domination

These playlists consistently generate situations where enemies occupy clear scoring zones. While other modes exist, they rarely produce reliable opportunities for objective-based tracking.

In Domination, allow opponents to begin capturing or defending a flag before engaging. When you hear a capture notification or see an icon changing control, move in and eliminate the enemy while they remain inside the capture radius.

Hardpoint offers steady opportunities because the active zone rotates and teams constantly fight for control. Let the opposing team secure the point, then push into or around the marked area to eliminate players stationed inside.

The table below clarifies what counts and what does not:

Scenario Counts as Objective Kill?
Enemy capturing a Domination flag and you eliminate them on the flag ✅ Yes
Enemy holding Hardpoint and you eliminate them inside the zone ✅ Yes
You stand on a flag and eliminate an enemy outside the capture area ❌ No
Enemy near the objective but not inside its boundary ❌ No

Your positioning matters as much as your timing. Engage when the enemy commits to the objective rather than when they rotate between lanes.

Weapon setup also plays a role. Use attachments that improve recoil control, aim stability, and close-range reaction speed. Since most objective fights happen in confined spaces, you benefit from builds designed for tight engagements rather than long-range duels.

Objective eliminations depend on awareness and positioning. Target active zones, confirm the Assault medal, and prioritize engagements where enemies physically occupy scoring areas.
