Baldurs Gate 3 November 2025 Update Patch Notes

Larian Studios continues to support Baldur’s Gate 3 with smaller updates, even after concluding major development earlier in 2025. The latest release, Hotfix 35, arrived in November 2025 and targeted stability issues across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Mac. It also delivered performance improvements for the Steam Deck, including an enhancement to the system’s default upscaling technology for sharper visuals.

Although modest in scope, the patch caused friction among players who rely on mods, as many found their custom content incompatible with the new version. This situation is not unusual for heavily modded games, but it highlights the delicate balance between maintaining stability and preserving player-created content. Larian has indicated future updates will likely remain limited to technical fixes while the studio shifts attention to new projects.

Crash and Stability Improvements
Larian Studios addressed multiple platform-specific crashes to improve reliability across systems. On PlayStation 5, the update resolves a freeze triggered by the L2 button. Xbox players should see greater multiplayer stability, fixing crashes that occurred on the host or client sides when leaving or suspending sessions. Steam Deck and Mac users benefit from corrections to crashes tied to game saving after crafting and potential host issues during cross-play. Additional improvements reduce instability in Steam Deck cross-play sessions.

Steam Deck Enhancements
The hotfix upgrades the default upscaling method from FSR 1 to FSR 2.2, offering sharper visuals on the Steam Deck. External controllers now maintain functionality when switching between desktop and gaming modes. Loading times are shortened in certain scenarios, while startup problems linked to missing English locale files have been eliminated. The update also refines VRAM usage on Nvidia GPUs, ensuring smoother performance.
