Marvel Rivals: How to Get Free Groot Ironwood Serpent Skin

Season 8.5 introduces a limited-time event called the Shenloong Tournament. You can access it without buying a premium pass.

This event runs from June 12, 2026 (9:00 AM UTC) to July 10, 2026 (9:00 AM UTC). You have roughly four weeks to complete all reward tiers.

Unlike a traditional paid battle pass, this event offers 12 completely free tiers. Every reward, including the final epic cosmetic, unlocks through gameplay alone.

The event launched alongside the K’un-Lun: Shenloong Arena map. It also added Bounty Annihilation, a large-scale 18v18 mode that gives you additional ways to earn match experience.

All rewards follow a unified theme centered on Groot’s Ironwood Serpent set. As you progress, you unlock cosmetics tied to that design.

Unlocking the Ironwood Serpent Groot Costume

You unlock the Groot Ironwood Serpent skin by reaching Tier 12, the final level of the event track.

Progress depends on earning XP through match participation. Completing event missions and playing games steadily moves you through each tier.

Each cleared tier grants one cosmetic item. You cannot skip directly to the final reward, so you must advance step by step.

Because the event does not include a paid upgrade path, you never face a paywall. If you invest the time and complete the tiers before July 10, you secure the full set, including the epic costume.
