You can expect another substantial update for Hades 2, even though Supergiant Games labels it as a hotfix. The upcoming release follows Post-Launch Patch 2 and introduces more than 40 adjustments, continuing the steady stream of refinements and additions since the game’s full launch.
After leaving early access in September 2025 to strong critical and player reception, Hades 2 has received multiple post-launch patches to expand and fine-tune the experience. This next update builds on the April 2026 patch, showing that support for the roguelike sequel remains active and ongoing.
Hades 2 to Receive Extensive Wave of Fixes and Balance Updates
Supergiant Games plans to roll out another substantial post-release update focused on tightening balance and resolving a wide range of technical issues. This hotfix builds on Patch 2 and concentrates on refining systems that affect your moment-to-moment decisions, especially in Dream Dives.
You can expect more than 40 individual adjustments. Most changes target gameplay clarity, consistency, and fairness rather than adding new content.
Dream Dives receive the most noticeable tuning. When Tartarus or the Summit appears as your first or second region, Shops will now offer Boons more often, increasing your ability to shape a build early.
You will also earn slightly more Gold from Encounters in those same early-region scenarios. That adjustment supports stronger early momentum and reduces the risk of stalled progression due to limited resources.
Several difficult bosses in Dream Dives see modest Life reductions. Chronos and his Unrivaled version now go down a bit faster, while the Tentacles in the Unrivaled Scylla encounter also have less Life.
These reductions do not remove challenge. They narrow extreme difficulty spikes so your success depends more on build choices and execution than on prolonged damage races.
Outside Dream Dives, the update corrects numerous Boon, keepsake, and upgrade interactions that could undermine specific builds. Many of these fixes address cases where effects did not trigger, stacked incorrectly, or persisted when they should not.
For example, Braid of Atlas will now properly enhance most Olympian Cast effects. Hazard Boom will correctly damage Melinoë when its effect triggers.
Proper Upbringing will no longer remain active after you fall below its required element threshold. Anvil Ring will also function without being interrupted by Death Defiance.
Some corrections focus on progression logic. You will no longer receive Rallying Cry from All Together before formally meeting Ares.
Hermes’ Success Rate will not appear in situations where it conflicts with Profuse Bleeding under the recent rework. Moon Beam will properly increase your chance of finding a Path of Stars while using the Aspect of Selene, even if you equip it between regions.
Daedalus Hammer upgrades receive multiple targeted fixes. Shimmering Moonshot now increases Omega Special damage as intended.
Rapid Onslaught and Latest Model will interact correctly. Mirrored Thrasher will no longer conflict with Flood Gain.
Other adjustments address layered Boon interactions. Extra Dose and certain Black Coat strikes now resolve properly.
Exceptional Talent works as expected with the Aspect of Anubis. Cardio Gain, Wave Flourish, and the Sister Blades no longer create unintended behavior.
Softness for Total Eclipse will not unexpectedly trigger Origination. Death Warrant will display its improved chance correctly when modified by Success Rate.
Enemy behavior and environmental effects also receive attention. Thessaly foes will not begin attacking prematurely due to Corrosion on Sight.
Lubber barrel flames will no longer interrupt Psychic Leash from the Aspect of Circe. Satyr Supplicants will play proper death animations when slain by Winter Harvest during the Unrivaled Chronos encounter.
Certain combat edge cases get resolved. If Polyphemus grabs you while you use the Moonstone Axe Omega Attack, you will not remain unable to attack longer than intended.
System-level mechanics tied to Oaths and Chaos Trials are now more reliable. Vow of Void persists correctly after a Chaos Trial.
Rarify will not carry over improperly across repeated attempts at the same Chaos Trial. These fixes ensure your risk-reward calculations behave consistently across runs.
User interface and presentation improvements make your experience clearer. Some sound effects that played louder than expected now match intended levels.
The option to Alter offerings in a Pool of Purging will remain active even if you previously purchased all goods from a Well of Charon in the same location. That prevents confusion when managing unwanted Boons.
Narrative timing and conversation triggers receive numerous adjustments. Certain lines that triggered earlier than intended now occur at appropriate moments.
Hermes will reliably initiate required dialogue so you can access the final Surface battle when conditions are met. You will not lose progression opportunities due to missing conversations.
Moros’ interactions no longer trigger unexpectedly if you decline his advances. Hephaestus’ dialogue timing has also been corrected.
Headmistress Hecate will not comment on the Aspect of Selene if you do not have it equipped. Dora will be interactable in situations where she previously was not.
Portrait inconsistencies receive fixes as well. Persephone and Chronos will display correct portraits during their respective appearances.
Some Unrivaled encounters had misplaced voice lines during Dream Dives. Those lines now align with context, including in the Typhon fight.
Visual clarity improves across multiple combat scenarios. The marked-target indicator in Heracles encounters will not linger during your Return to Shadow sequence.
Rapidly switching from Special to Attack with the Aspect of Nergal will no longer produce visual glitches. Stunned foes will not rotate unexpectedly after Hecuba’s effects trigger.
Your Sprint animation receives several corrections. Closing the Steam Overlay by clicking its X button will no longer lock Melinoë into a sprint.
Striking and sprinting in different directions using mouse and keyboard will display properly aligned animations. Letterbox artwork will not remain visible at certain resolutions after using the Music Maker.
Additional fixes address rare crash scenarios. These stability updates aim to reduce unexpected run-ending interruptions.
The hotfix will debut on PC first. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2 versions will receive the update shortly after.
While further minor balance changes may follow, the developer has indicated that large-scale content expansions are unlikely beyond the 1.0 scope. This update instead focuses on consistency, fairness, and technical polish.
