How to Get Bloodmarked

In Diablo 4, engaging in player-vs-player (PvP) battles is an exciting challenge for those looking to test their skills against real-life opponents. To participate in these encounters, players need to become Bloodmarked, a special status that allows them to fight other players. This process requires entering designated PvP zones known as Fields of Hatred and using a specific in-game emote.

While the primary focus of Diablo 4 is on player-vs-environment (PvE) battles against AI-controlled foes, the ability to engage in PvP adds an extra layer of excitement and complexity. This guide will provide detailed instructions on how to get Bloodmarked in Diablo 4, enabling players to take part in PvP battles and complete related challenges.

How to get Bloodmarked in Diablo 4

To participate in PvP battles in Diablo 4, you need to activate the Bloodmark effect. Start by heading to one of the designated PvP areas known as Fields of Hatred. These zones are highlighted in red on your map. You can find them in two regions: the Dry Steppes and Kehjistan.

Before heading into these zones, ensure you have the Mark for Blood emote ready. Open your Emote Customization menu and assign the Mark for Blood emote to one of the available slots. Once you are inside the Fields of Hatred, access your emote wheel and choose the Mark for Blood emote.

After activating the emote, you will be Bloodmarked. This status allows you to engage in PvP combat, meaning you can attack any other players in the area, but they can also attack you. Be vigilant, as you will be a target for other Bloodmarked players.

Steps to Get Bloodmarked:

  1. Visit either Fields of Hatred in the Dry Steppes or Kehjistan.
  2. Ensure the Mark for Blood emote is set in your emote customization menu.
  3. Enter the PvP zone.
  4. Open your emote wheel and select the Mark for Blood emote.

After these steps, you will be Bloodmarked and ready for PvP encounters.

How to Remove Bloodmark in Diablo 4

To eliminate the Bloodmark status in Diablo 4, players need to travel to the nearest city within the PvP zone. Once there, find and interact with the Altar of Cleansing. This action will remove the Bloodmarked status, allowing players to exit PvP mode. The Altar of Cleansing is crucial for those wishing to shift back to PvE gameplay after engaging in PvP battles.
